It is designed for pilots, cabin crew, frequent flyers – and anyone who wants to be prepared when a flight doesn’t go as planned. You’ll learn how to respond during a controlled water landing, what equipment is essential, how to survive in a life raft, and what to expect during helicopter or SAR (Search and Rescue) operations. The course follows EASA and FAA regulations and integrates relevant ICAO/IATA guidelines, with additional survival strategies adapted from maritime safety standards. Course Topics Include: - Phases of ditching: preparation, behavior, evacuation - Life rafts, slide rafts & survival kits - Cold shock, hypothermia, HELP position & group survival - Search and Rescue (SAR) procedures & signaling - Dealing with storms, lightning, inversion, and disorientation - Considerations for business aviation & VIP operations Note: This course constitutes the theoretical component of full ditching training. A separate practical training module (in water) is required to meet full certification standards as defined by EASA, ICAO and international safety frameworks. Target Audience: - Commercial & business aviation flight crew and cabin crew members - Charter operators, training managers, and safety departments - Frequent flyers, private passengers, yacht or helicopter crew - Anyone seeking realistic knowledge on water emergencies and survival
